Ruskin Gallery
Client: Millennium Galleries, Museums Sheffield
In March 2011 the Ruskin Gallery at Sheffield's Millennium Galleries reopened after a major refurbishment. As part of this, I was commissioned to produce some illustrations to be used on a new family trail for the gallery. In John Ruskin's diaries he mentions his cat 'Puss' and I was commissioned to draw Puss in a range of poses to be used on the trail. We do not know what breed of cat Puss would have been, but my version of Puss is grey and white, to match the cuddly toy cat which is in the gallery for children to play with.
Museums Sheffield also wanted to reuse the original illustration of John Ruskin I created for their original trail. I revisited this and spruced up the colours to give it a new lease of life.
