Newly completed illustration of the canopic chest of Tutankhamun. The chest is carved from a single block of calcite, with human headed stoppers. Under each stopper is a hollow which contains a canopic coffinette, four in total. These coffinettes contained the embalmed and wrapped viscera (internal organs) of the king.

Here is my illustration of the second coffin on Tutankhamun. This was nested inside the outer coffin, and contained the inner coffin (which contained the mummy itself)

This is the inner coffin of Tutankhamun. It is made of beaten solid gold and was nested inside the two outer coffins. This coffin contained the mummy of Tutankhamun, wearing his famous golden mask.

As morbid as it sounds, I'm still drawing coffins! Although they are Ancient Egyptian ones!
This is the outer coffin of Tutankhamun, made from wood and covered with a layer of sheet gold.

I have just finished colouring this pen and ink illustration of the mummified body of Tutankhamun wearing the famous golden mask and decorative trappings of the mummy. The body was placed inside 3 nested coffins and a stone sarcophagus, which was housed inside several golden shrines.
This illustration will form a small part of my overall illustration of the tomb of Tutankhamun.
