New Artwork for the Cutty Sark Guidebook

I'm very pleased to be able to unveil this new artwork for the recently reopened Cutty Sark in Greenwich.

I was commissioned to create an illustration for the new souvenir guide book which would complement the bolder and more contemporary feel of the new guide book. The illustration needed to have a broad enough appeal for the general visitor, but also be technically detailed enough to be of interest to the enthusiast.

You can read more about Cutty Sark, the fire which nearly destroyed her, and the painstaking restoration process which has restored her to her former glory here. Even better, you can visit and see for yourself!

Museums & Heritage Show 2012

It was great to meet so many nice people at this year's Museums & Heritage Show and it was once again a great event with a really friendly feel. I had a lot of very interesting conversations about potential projects, educational initiatives and new ideas and it seems that plenty of museums and heritage attractions are really trying to improve their offering for younger visitors. I hope that some of those conversations will in time turn into exciting new projects.

I have already booked my stand for Museums & Heritage 2013 which will be held at London Olympia, so I hope to see you there!

(I got my rollable PVC display graphics printed by G&L Services, a local Sheffield printing company and I couldn't have been happier with the result! Extremely high quality, and a great personal service as always. And no, I didn't get a discount for writing this, I just think they do a brilliant job!)

Illustrated Timeline and Time Traveller Info Card for Chiltern Open Air Museum

Here's a project I've recently completed for the Chiltern Open Air Museum.

The brief was to design an illustrated timeline showing the buildings at the museum, as well as some historical events.

The pictures of the buildings will be on magnets, and visiting children will have to see if they can find where the builds belong on the timeline.

I also designed a small information card which will go in their children's activity packs. The museum had the idea of a 'time traveller' theme, and wanted both the timeline and info card to have a nostalgic, 1940s feel to them.

Bolton Castle Children's Guide

Here are a couple of pictures of the final Bolton Castle Children's Guide. It's a 16 page booklet, full colour, and every page is packed full of information, activities and eye catching colourful illustrations.

The booklets were beautifully printed by Adam Swift at Print Revolution and he's done a fantastic job. If you like the look of these then I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.

CAFOD Children's Liturgy Colouring Sheets

I've been working on a very enjoyable project for CAFOD to illustrate a series of 20 Children's liturgy colouring sheets which can be downloaded from CAFOD's website for use by church and school groups.

The colouring sheet illustrations link into the theme of the liturgy each week and vary from biblical scenes to pictures showing CAFOD's work.

Here are three of the colouring sheets, I will be putting the rest on my website.

You can visit the CAFOD website and download the colouring sheets here.
